What does SystemLogix supply?
As part of the solution that SystemLogix will provide, you will get a fully built website. These are supplied with a basic template for you to fully customise within your organisation. The site will come with all the software tools included within the quotation.
Who is responsible for the content of the website (including content updates)?
Having a blank canvas allows you have full control over how your website is managed and have full control over how the website looks and feels. All content on the site is also fully customisable within your organisation, giving you the ability to change things whenever you wish. This removes any need to make requests to SystemLogix for changes, which with other companies will incur extra charges and delays. You are able to do this real time on the site whenever you require.
Who is responsible for what?
SystemLogix is responsible for the Servers, Hosting, Software (including updates) and Technical Support (including training if needed). SystemLogix will make weekly backups of sites that are hosted.
The client is responsible for all the content and design of the site. The client is responsible for taking daily backups. This is especially important if you are running an e-commerce site as you will need to make sure you have all transactions that have taken place.
Who owns what?
SystemLogix owns the server based software.
The client owns the site content/images including any purchased or client uploaded templates and the site databases.
Do I need to buy any software?
You do not need to buy any software as everything you need is included. However, if you wish to make any major customisations to the templates or content of the site, you may require other software like Dreamweaver and CuteFtp for example. You would then download the parts of the site that need customising. Make the changes and upload to the site.
Note: SystemLogix cannot be held responsible for any changes made to the basic site structure if changed in this manner. We recommend that you make a full backup of the site before making these changes.
If you require other features that are not included within the quotation a fee may apply.
What if I want to move the website to another hosting company?
During the contract period you are not permitted to move the site to another hosting company unless all monies outstanding have been paid. This includes any future payments up to the contract end date. After that time, should you wish to move the site elsewhere, you can take a backup of all site content, databases etc and upload to the new host. Please note that if the new host does not have all the server based software available, the site may not function at all or certain parts may not work.
